UFI member Eric Ross Gilliatt stars in “Anna” film competing for Palm d’Or in Cannes

A Ukrainian Film Institute’s member, UFIP senior producer and actor Eric Ross Gilliatt has a male leading role in “Anna” short film officially selected for Cannes Film Festival 2019 – Short Film Competition (World premiere).
It was selected among 4240 short films from around the world. The 2019 Short film competition comprises 11 pictures (9 fiction, 1 documentary and 1 animation) from Albania, Argentina, France, Finland, Greece, Israel, Ukraine, Sweden and USA.
The film is written and directed by Dekel Berenson from the United Kingdom.
Eric Ross Gilliatt comments his participation in the film:
“The Director/Writer, Dekel Berenson has honored me for my great work and asked me to join him for the premiere. I hope to be able to do that. Most of all, I am hoping for great results for this superbly written, expertly shot drama story of the realities of life in Ukraine. It is a powerful and emotional work and it will surely bring a lot of great film making attention to Ukraine within the film industry from being part of this globally recognized #1 Film Festival”.
Synopsis: Living in war-torn Eastern Ukraine Anna is an ageing single mother who is desperate for a change. Lured by a radio advertisement, she goes to party with a group of American men who are touring the country, searching for love.
